Interview with an Artist: Jessica Douglas
In today’s interview, I had the pleasure of getting to know U.S. artist Jessica Douglas. Her work is beautiful, bold, colorful, and detailed. As I look at Jessica’s work I see layers, not only of pencil and paint, but of ideas, emotions, and meaning as well. As much as I love her work though, I’m impressed just as much, if not more, by her openness with her personal struggles and her willingness to share what she’s learned as an artist. Her mentality towards art, I think, can be summed up by two words: be yourself.
I’ve included a number of my favorite works of Jessica’s below. She has a lot she can teach us about what it means to be an artist and how to get the most joy out of your favorite medium:
